Dubai declares June 27, 2025, a public holiday for Hijri New Year, with exceptions for essential services.

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has officially declared Friday, June 27, 2025, as a public holiday for all government entities, departments, and institutions to mark the Hijri New Year.

According to the announcement, certain government workers will be excluded from this holiday, particularly those based in departments that operate in shifts or provide essential public services. These entities are tasked with arranging work schedules appropriately to ensure the continuity of vital services.

Dubai's Hijri New Year Holiday

The DGHR stated that organizations with critical operational demands are responsible for managing their work hours to meet service requirements during this festive period.

On this special occasion, warm regards were extended to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; as well as the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, along with all citizens and residents of the UAE, wishing them prosperity and joy.
