Ajman Government Launches Summer Flexibility Initiative: 100% Remote Work on Fridays and Reduced Hours Until August 2025

The Executive Council of Ajman has officially approved the "Balanced Summer" initiative, which will allow employees to work from home on Fridays and cut their hours from Monday to Thursday to 7 hours a day during the summer, from July 1 to August 22, 2025. This is part of the council's ongoing commitment to employee well-being and work-life balance.
The decision was made during a council meeting held at the Government Entities Complex in the Emiri Diwan, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. His Highness emphasized that the initiative aligns with Ajman Government’s strategy to foster a flexible, motivating work environment that respects employees’ personal and professional needs.
Under the new system, employees will work from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM from Monday to Thursday, while Friday will be fully remote. This aims to ensure institutional balance and operational efficiency without compromising the delivery of essential government services.
His Highness highlighted that social and family stability is a key pillar in Ajman’s developmental journey, reaffirming the government’s continued focus on human well-being as the driving force behind improved institutional performance.
Moreover, the initiative supports environmental sustainability by reducing daily commuting emissions, aligning with the Ajman Vision 2030 goals of building a more balanced and eco-friendly society.
The Human Resources Department, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, will oversee implementation and provide an evaluation report by the end of September 2025 to assess the initiative’s impact on institutional performance and employee satisfaction.
