The airline serves destinations in Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas through EgyptAir Holding Company and its affiliated businesses. Its operations include passenger transport, cargo, ground handling, maintenance and training services. EgyptAir joined the Star Alliance in 2008. It uses the IATA code MS and the ICAO code MSR, with the callsign EGYPTAIR. Headquartered in Cairo, it is state-owned through EgyptAir Holding Company.
